A homeless immigrant from Honduras died of hypothermia due to exposure in late November, Morris County authorities said Friday.

A deceased person found in Morristown has been identified as Oscar Alberto Romero, 23. He had no recent consistent residence, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Morristown Bureau of Police Chief Peter Demnitz said in a joint announcement.

An autopsy by Dr. Ronald V. Suarez of the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death.

On Nov. 17 at approximately 8:30 a.m., Morristown officers responded to a call of an unconscious person. They found one deceased male in an alley behind 12 Schuyler Place.
