Kansas was one of the great “stadium rock” acts of the late 70s and early 80s, bursting on the scene in late 1976 with the anthem, “Carry On My Wayward Son”, which peaked at #11.  They followed up with “The Point Of Know Return” and “Dust In The Wind”.  “Dust In The Wind” was their only Top Ten hit (#6).

The song I requested, “Hold On” was a top 40 hit in 1980 and was written by band member Kerry Livgren as a plea to his wife to convert to Christianity, which he had recently done.  Not even that fact convinced Big Joe to play it.
