According to Billboard, Paul Anka, the Canadian-born crooner, ranks 32nd in chart success during the rock era. His first hit, 'Diana,' was released when he was 15 and hit #1. He had a pretty varied career writing things like The Tonight Show theme and the English lyrics to 'My Way.' He even had his own network television variety show in the 70s.

After being a teen idol in the 50s, he had a career renaissance in the 70s, charting songs like '(You’re) Having My Baby,' which hit #1 in 1974, 'I Don’t Like To Sleep Alone,' and 'Times of Your Life.' By the eighties his recording career was slowing down, but he had one great tune in him: 'Hold Me ’Til The Morning Comes,' co-written with David Foster, which peaked at #40 in 1983.
