Heroin Mill Busted in Newark

Three men and one woman have been arrested for allegedly operating a heroin production facility in a Newark basement apartment.

Authorities seized more than $100,000 worth of heroin at the Astor Street location and elsewhere.

Some of the packaged product was stamped with the brand names VIP, Instagram and Castle Crook.

Oswaldo Hernandez of Belleville, and Emmanuel Delgado, Shaila Perez and Mitchell Valasquez of Newark have been charged with maintaining a production facility, possession, possession with intent to distribute, and conspiracy. Additional charges were filed against individual defendants.
