After authorities on Friday discovered an "extreme hoarding situation" at a Howell home where 276 dogs were crammed inside, people across New Jersey have lent a helping hand to the three shelters that took in the pets— Monmouth County SPCA, the Associated Humane's Society Tinton Falls Shelter and St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center.

At St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center in Madison, 48 groomers volunteered their services. Ross Licitra, the chief law enforcement officer for the Monmouth County SPCA, wrote on the organization's website:

I could not be more proud of the tremendous effort and success of every single person who came together, dropped what they were doing and worked endlessly to bring this event to fruition. This grand gesture of thanks is not only meant to all of the people who were on the scene of this event, but to all of our staff and volunteers back at the shelter who provided support that was as crucial to our success.

If you're looking to help out, here's how you can adopt one of the nearly 300 dogs that were found.

Tinton Falls Shelter

Fee: The fee for dogs is $240, which includes vaccinations and neuter/spay costs.

Requirements: Homeowners must bring proof of ownership and renters must provide their lease or a letter from their landlord. The shelter also runs a "vet check" to confirm that adopters who previously owned a dog had their pet spayed, neutered and vaccinated.

The shelter normally does not adopt dogs out to families that have children under the age of 5, as recommended by the Humane Society of the United States.

Number rescued: The Tinton Falls Shelter took in 30 dogs from the Howell house.

Available to visit: Those looking to visit the dogs can stop by the shelter by Thursday, after the animals have been groomed, spayed, neutered, and socialized, said Ronnie Ehrenspeck, General Manager in Associated Humane Societies in Tinton Falls.

St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center

Fee: Adult dogs will cost $275 fee, the fee for puppies will be $300 and for senior dogs, $137. The fee includes vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter and a behavioral and medical assessment.

Requirements: St. Hubert's requires adopters to show their license or another form of identification.

Number rescued: The shelter took in 142 dogs from the N.J. house.

Available to visit: St. Hubert's website is being updated as the dogs become available to view and adopt. You can find adoption information and learn how to donate here: sthuberts.org/howelldogrescue.

Fee: Puppies under 6 months: $405. Dogs over 6 months: $250 and covers microchipping and registration, spaying/neutering, rabies and distemper shots, heart worm testing, ear and nail clipping, worming for intestinal worms and flea treatment.

Number of dogs at the shelter: 130
