New Jersey and the nation was horrified when a makeshift memorial went up for a cop killer. To make matters worse, the street memorial for cop killer (name deleted) was larger than the temporary memorial honoring fallen officer Melvin Santiago. There's also a Facebook memorial page honoring not the cop, but his killer. Police are denounced in that page's posts. (Name deleted) bragged that he would be 'famous' for killing a cop. Don't let that happen.

Gun Violence Survivors Foundation, GVS, is a non-profit organization based in Philadelphia that says they want to do something to make sure Santiago is the one who is remembered and not the killer. They want to raise $20,000 to build a lasting memorial to this young officer in Jersey City. If you'd like to help, here's the link.
