A helicopter with five people on board has made an emergency landing in the Hudson River.

WABC TV reports the helicopter made what is described as a "hard" landing in the water near the 79th Street boat basin. The 4 passengers and a pilot were taken by jet ski to the basin. All are uninjured.

"We lost power," the pilot told CNN who would not give his name or any further details.

WNBC TV. reports the chopper, Bell 206 registered to NY Helicopter Charter, was carrying tourists from Sweeden. The Coast Guard was towing the chopper to the Boat Basin.

The helicopter went down just before 12noon. United States Coast Guard, NYPD Aviation and Harbor Patrol quickly responded to the scene according to WNBC TV.
