Heavy Traffic to Conclude Holiday Weekend at Shore

New Jersey could be called the Gridlock State today.

With only a few hours left in the Memorial Day weekend, pockets of heavy traffic are clogging the state's roadways — especially as the beaches begin to empty.

There's congestion on many of the major roadways leading from the Shore: the Atlantic City Expressway; U.S. 9; the Garden State Parkway between exits 12 (18-mile delay) and 30 and exits 80 and 100 (20-mile delay); the New Jersey Turnpike between exits 7 and 8 (13-mile delay).
