The heat was turned back up today in New Jersey to start another heat wave with temperatures in the 90s all week.

There's a slight chance of a thunderstorm developing on Sunday and Monday afternoons otherwise the heat and humidity will combine for a hear index of at least 100 degrees through Friday.

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect starting Monday for Mercer, Gloucester, Camden and Burlington counties and an  Excessive Heat Advisory begins today for Morris, Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, Union, Essex, Bergen and Hudson counties where the heat index will be nearly 105 degrees.

Those who work outdoors work outdoors should take extra precautions with frequent breaks in air conditioned areas. It is recommended that strenuous activity be done in the early morning or evening to avoid the full impact of the sun.

The National Weather Service long range forecast calls for cooler than normal temperatures next week.
