Heartless Letter Sent to the Mother of an Autistic Child [PHOTO/VIDEO]

The unfortunate truth is that there are a few cruel and mean people that are among us. What’s worse, is that most of them are ignorant. This is a mixture for the situation the mother of an autistic child is dealing with. This anonymous letter was sent to Karla Begley. Her son, Max, is 13 and was diagnosed with autism when he was two.

This horrific letter was slipped under the door of the mother and tweeted by close family friends who were in shock. They are searching for the identity of “one pissed off mother.”

UPDATE (8/20/13): City News in Toronto has filed their latest report. They mention receiving lots of email from New Jersey. Thanks for making your voice heard!

ORIGINAL REPORT: Max’s mother spoke out in this news report in disbelief.

While occurrences such as this tend to divide, it’s actually brought this community together. The support for Max has never been greater.

How can anyone say something like this about a child? It’s the reality of the world we live in, unfortunately. Hopefully, the “positive” to come out of this is better education of a disorder that effects one in every 88 children in the United States. Autism and spectrum disorders are becoming an epidemic.

On the off chance that the party responsible for the letter above is reading this, I implore them to go to an organization I and 94.3 The Point work with closely, Autism Speaks and educate themselves.
