Col. Rick Fuentes told lawmakers Friday that he would not attend an Assembly transportation committee hearing on the issue scheduled for Monday, saying he did not want to talk about the case until after an internal investigation is completed.

State Police Lt. Stephen Jones said Fuentes will discuss it once the probe is finished.

Fuentes also cited a conflict. He's to be in Washington D.C. on Monday for a memorial service for law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

The state police suspended two troopers and transferred 10 amid the investigation into what happened on March 30.
