MEDFORD TOWNSHIP — Police are looking for a man they say approached an 11-year-old girl and tried to grab at her arm, in what authorities are describing as a "suspicious incident."

"During the brief encounter, the unknown male engaged the female in conversation and reached for the girl's arm and she pulled her arm back," police wrote in an alert about the incident. "The unknown male subsequently walked away from the girl towards the rear of the residence."

The man is described as white, in his mid to late 40s, about 5 feet and 10 inches tall, with a thin to medium build, short black hair and a white stripe in the front portion of his hair, which was slicked back, police said. He had gray and black facial hair, police said. He was described as having a raspy voice.

Police said he was wearing dirty blue jeans, discolored brown work boots, and a long-sleeve grey thermal shirt.

State Police assisted in the creation of a composite sketch.

Authorities say anyone who recognizes the man or who has information about the incident contact Medford Township Police at 609-267-8300 or the Medford Township Police Citizen Tip Line at 609-714-0302 or info@medfordpolice.org.
