Jackson Police are looking for a man they say broke into another person's home, assaulted the resident and stole the resident's cell phone.

Shaqueese White, 25, entered the home on Arcadia Court around 8 p.m. by removing a screen after no one answered the door, according to police. Once inside, White assaulted a person inside, stole the person's cell phone and left the home on foot before police arrived, police said.

White discarded the phone a wooded area as he fled the scene, police said.

Police said White was known to the alleged victim, but didn't specify the nature of their relationship.

White faces charges of second-degree burglary, second-degree robbery and criminal mischief, according to police, who said White does not have a permanent address.

White is described by police as a black male, 6 feet and 1 inches, weighing between 140 and 160 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a black-and-white skull cap and a blue hooded sweatshirt, and carrying a green bag, police said.

Authorities are asking anyone with information on White's whereabouts to call the Jackson Township Police Department at 732-928-1111.
