FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP (Cumberland) — State Police are looking for the man they say robbed a man at gunpoint Friday before fleeing on foot.

Police say a person met with the robber with the intention of buying an iPhone for $250 on King Drive. But, police say, the robber pulled out a handgun, demanded cash and robbed the would-be buyer of $250 cash before fleeing on foot.

Police said the robber was a black male between ages 22 and 25, standing approximately 5 feet and 6 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was wearing a white tank top, black athletic shorts and flip flops, police said.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to call State Police Bridgeton Station at 856-451-0106.

Law enforcement urges internet buyers and sellers to meet in public places to complete their transactions. Many police departments in New Jersey have created "Safe Exchange Zones" that are monitored and help keep the process safe.
