TOMS RIVER — Police are searching for a 16-year-old girl who has been missing since Sept. 11 and has not been heard from since.

Isabelle "Belle" Lavender, 16, went missing from her father's Toms River home sometime in the evening on Sept. 11, according to police. A junior at Toms River North High School, the teen may have been spotted at a CVS store in Kendall Park the following morning. She was last seen wearing shorts and a hoodie, her mother told New Jersey 101.5. She may have also had leggings with her.

According to a Facebook page set up by the teen's family to help with the search, a lead in New York City turned out to be a dead end.

"She could be anywhere in between...16 year old girls can be easily manipulated. Although we don't believe she was abducted, we do not know who she is with or the motives, intentions and thought process of this person or people," the family said on the page. "We have no idea where she is or who she is with. It is a scary feeling. Thank you for your concern and please keep an eye out and sharing her photo. Her family is worried sick."

Toms River police say they are working with several other police agencies in an attempt to locate the girl. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact Det. Jenn Grob at 732-349-0150, Ext. 1319 or jgrob@trpolice.org.
