School business administrator Joseph Tramontana has been placed on administrative leave.

The Times of Trenton reports school Superintendent James Parla made the decision.

A cooperating witness at the mayor's trial had testified earlier that she had given benefits to Tramontana and his wife, who is the township's recreation director.

The witness was the district's insurance broker.

The mayor is charged with extortion and money laundering. Prosecutors claim he took more than $12,000 from the broker in exchange for using his influence.
