A spokeswoman for Kim Guadagno said Wednesday that the state's second-in-command received the invitation through an email blast that had been sent to numerous recipients.

The spokeswoman, Joelle Farrell, said Guadagno would not be attending the event.

Guadagno is the state's first lieutenant governor and fills in for Gov. Chris Christie when he's out of state.

She has said that she is considering a run for the Republican nomination to succeed him.

The invitation was first reported by NJ.com.
