Grisly Laurel Lakes Scene Could Be Murder-Suicide, 2 Dead

A grisly discovery in a bedroom in the Laurel Lakes section of Commercial Township has NJ authorities speculating that it might be a case of murder suicide.

A concerned coworker visited a Samuel Drive trailer on Wednesday to check up on Scott Rector, 30, who hadn’t shown up to work in a week.  That’s when the coworker discovered the bodies of Scott and Stacy Rector, 28, dead of gunshot wounds in a bed, State Police say.

Their bodies were found in the bed along with those of two dead dogs. A suicide note was discovered and investigators found a semi-automatic handgun on the scene.

The NJ State Police and Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the incident and officials are waiting for medical autopsy reports to make their final determinations on the case.
