NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League and Friends of EMAS (Edison Municipal Animal Shelter) to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes. Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Gregory and Robert are bonded teenage kitten brothers that we would like to place in a home together. Gregory, a white and grey tiger stripe, is a bit shy and relies of Robert for security. Robert, a black and white tuxedo, is the adventurous one who Gregory likes to follow. They are both beautiful sweet kittens, who have grown up in the shelter and would really blossom in a home. Robert loves belly rubs and chin scratches. Gregory is learning to be more trusting by watching Robert. Both kittens are neutered, vaccinated, FIV and Felv negative. They are waiting to meet you at the shelter's PetSmart location on Rt. 27 next to Costco.

If you're interested in meeting Gregory and Robert or fostering/adopting them, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org. You can see more adoptable cats from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Tank

Tank’s a sweet and friendly dog with a beautiful and soft coat. He’s well behaved in the car and housebroken. Tank enjoys walks, especially when there’s a lot of new scents for him to smell. He knows some commands. Tank enjoys lying in the grass and soaking in the sun. He can be stubborn at times, so a firm hand will be necessary at times. He can also be dog-reactive toward some dogs.

If you’re interested in learning more about Tank or to schedule a visit, email dogs@easelnj.org. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable dogs and puppies here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Faithy

Faithy is a cute, sweet little girl who came to the shelter as a stray dog. A wonderful couple saw Faithy at the shelter, fell in love with her and decided to foster her. For the past six months, they have been working with her and getting her ready for her forever family. Faithy is crate trained, curious and very calm when meeting new people. She is a little excited in the beginning of her walk, but in just a few minutes, she calms right down and is a wonderful walker. She also does very well in familiar places, running alongside a bicycle like a true champion. Faithy is polite and sits before she eats. She also takes treats gently from your hand and her favorite treat is American cheese. She loves to sit on the sofa with her foster mom and dad and be petted.  Faithy loves to roll around on her back and then look up at her foster mom and dad like she's saying, "I am just so cute." She'll play in the backyard with a toy or ball, then roll around in the grass and scratch herself along the entire length of the fence. And, she just loves to play in leaf piles! A quiet home with a fenced-in yard would allow her to be the best companion that you could ever want. Faithy would be best as the only pet in the house. Faithy lacks a bit of confidence, but her foster parents have been working with her to help her feel more confident.  She needs a special, experienced person or family that would be willing to continue to work with her to bring her to the next level. Time, patience, and especially love will bring out her full potential. She is spayed, vaccinated, house-trained and absolutely ready for a new home.

If you're interested in meeting Faithy or fostering/adopting him, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org. You can see more adoptable dogs from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.
