The governor says grants totaling $16 million have allowed the state to hire unemployed residents to help clean up after the superstorm.

Christie says an additional $26 million is available for companies to hire and retain utility, construction and high-skilled workers during the rebuilding efforts.

Christie gave the keynote address at the New Jersey Business and Industry Association's annual public policy forum in Woodbridge on Tuesday.

The governor says the storm has shown that the state's politicians can work together regardless of party to meet the recovery needs of residents.
