Christie made the plea during a 6pm press conference at New Jersey State Police headquarters in West Trenton.

Christie is also urging residents to stay put on Monday.  "We can't emphasize this enough.  Don't try to go out there and be a hero or act as if nothing is happening.  Something is happening.  It's important and we need to have you stay inside. "
