Governor Chris Christie will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney tonight at a fundraiser in north Jersey. General admission tickets are going for $500. Those who donate $2,500 and who bundle such donations will get to attend VIP receptions.

Today, Christie was asked about the event and his thoughts on Romney trailing former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich in the polls. He said, “There will be a significant display of support tonight. Almost every significant player in the Republican Party in New Jersey will be endorsing Mitt Romney and as to Newt Gingrich, I’m not at all concerned about it. As I’ve said before, if I were concerned about Newt Gingrich I’d have had to have been concerned about Herman Cain and Michelle Bachman and Rick Perry, all of whom held similar leads to the lead that Speaker Gingrich has now.”

Christie says polls go up and polls go down, but nobody has actually voted yet.
