The only first-time candidate in New Jersey's special U.S. Senate election is focused on repealing President Barack Obama's health insurance overhaul.

Alieta Eck is a physician from Somerset County's Franklin Township. She and her husband have a private practice and also run a church-based free clinic that treats the uninsured.

All of the other candidates in the race to fill the last 15 months of the late Sen. Frank Lautenberg's term are longtime politicians.

Eck's campaign has taken her mostly to tea party and Republican organization meetings where she's trying to persuade conservatives to choose her over former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan.

She says that while she lacks political experience, she is living a health care solution through her clinic.
