As if the Giants aren’t having enough problems this season with an 0-2 start, their number 1 receiver Victor Cruz is struggling. In Sunday’s game against the Cardinals the salsa dancing receiver dropped 3 consecutive balls that could have made the difference in the game. The third down drop was crucial because on the next play Steve Weatherford punted a line drive to Ted Ginn Jr that was returned for a touchdown that basically put the game out of reach for the G-Men.

After the game Cruz came under fan fire for his opinion of their opinion. Cruz says he could care less and he’s right. As soon as he starts catching the ball and scoring touchdowns again, (he has not salsa danced at Met Life Stadium since 2012), all will be forgiven.

I’ve always been a big fan of Cruz, he’s the son of a fireman who lost his Dad fighting a blaze. Let’s not forget the way he won over our hearts when he first came on the scene scoring 3 touchdowns in the Jet pre season game, nor the 99 yard reception against the New York rivals that argueabl led to the 2011 Super Bowl run. Let’s especially not forget the way he honored 6 year old  Jack Pinto who lost his life on that dreadful day at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Victor Cruz will come around and have a big year for the Giants as soon as they get their number one draft choice Odell Beckum Jr on the field and up to speed. Once that happens, it should be like it was when Hakeem Nicks was here and drawing all the attention he did before last year when his season for whatever reason, went down the drain. It will be interesting to see what Nicks does tonight playing for the Colts against the Eagles in a contract year in the Monday Night spotlight.

But as far as Cruz is concerned, don’t put those salsa feet away just yet.
