Gender reveal parties – rite of passage or unnecessary? – Poll

This woman's reaction to the gender of her child is truly priceless, but do these parties go too far?

This is a moment that will always be remembered by one family. A mom was pregnant with her seventh child, and she hosted a "gender reveal party" to find out whether her child would be a boy or a girl. The whole family gathered around the woman as she cuts a large cake to find out what gender she'd be having.

As she struggled to cut the cake, the anticipation built, and her reaction is adorable! But it also made us think about whether these very special moments always have to be so publicized. We live in the YouTube age, and it seems like everyone always feels the need to make a big deal out of all the special moments they have in their lives. Can't we just keep some things to ourselves? Are all of these parties really necessary? What about all of those proposal videos? It seems like everyone tries to exploit these tender moments just for their 15 minutes of fame, and to be honest, we're a little bit tired of it.
