Garth MacDonald, Public Information Small Business Administration, Office of Disaster Assistance, called in to Jim's show this morning to update New Jersey on the deadline to apply for a low-interest loan, for those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

As the office attempts to try and help people recover, the deadline to apply for  SBA low-interest loans is this Friday March 1st.

Many people are still figure out what their plans for recovery are. Even if you are still working with your insurance company, you should still fill out the form and get your application before

If you have been denied for a business loan prior to this by the SBA, MacDonald said that they urge you to re-apply.

The division can help rental properties at the shore and provide funds that can assist rebuilding costs, especially for those that will be forced to elevate their homes, during the rebuilding process.

You can also call 1-800-659-2955 to find out where the nearest Disaster Recovery Center is in NJ, in case you would like to meet face to face with a specialist to discuss your options and what type of loan may be available to you.
