The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is set to vote Wednesday on a plan to offer free access at Newark, Kennedy and LaGuardia airports, to a point. The proposal cleared a committee on Wednesday morning.

Wi-Fi would be free for 30 minutes, then travelers would have to pay $7.95 for the day.

It currently costs passengers $4.95 an hour or $7.95 for 24 hours to access the Internet at the airports.
