Henrique, 23, will enter his third NHL season in September, and will be counted on heavily on a team light on offense. Henrique had 11 goals and 16 points in 42 games last season with New Jersey, after a memorable rookie season with the Devils in 2011-12.

Henrique was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team that season, and finished third in voting for the Calder Trophy, given to the league's top rookie. He posted 51 points that season, and scored the overtime winner in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals vs. the New York Rangers, securing New Jersey's fifth trip to the Stanley Cup Finals.

A native of Brantford, Ontario, Henrique made his NHL debut April 11, 2011 vs. Boston. He was the No. 82 selection in the 2008 NHL Draft.

New Jersey is seeking to bounce back from a disappointing shortened season in which the Devils failed to make the playoffs. In July, they lost forwards Ilya Kovalchuk to retirement, and David Clarkson to Toronto via free agency.
