PARAMUS — The former quarterback of Paramus Catholic High School said the current assistant football coach punched him on the sidelines during a practice game.

Derick Suazo told NorthJersey.com he was with several former players at the school for a practice game Tuesday night. Paramus Catholic assistant coach Ed Tedesco joined their conversation, and when Suazo asked Tedesco about his tattoos, Tedesco punched him, according to the report.

The 18-year-old was unconscious after the punch and had a minor concussion, according the report said.

The school and the NJSIAA have yet not returned messages seeking comment.

Suazo told the newspaper that he graduated this past June and had a good relationship with Tedesco when he was a member of the Paladins.
