James Paroline, 27, is charged with one count of receiving child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in New Jersey. Paroline worked as an assistant nursery school teacher and also as a camp counselor at a private school, both in Monmouth County, according to the U.S. Attorney.

Paroline was arrested on July 7, 2015 following an investigation by local and federal law enforcement. According to the U.S. Attorney, on March 1 and 2 of last year, the Red Bank man downloaded videos and images depicting child sexual abuse from an online bulletin board and website that advertised and distributed child pornography.

Authorities say investigators tracked the images that were downloaded back to Paroline's IP address at his residence. His home was searched and officers found pictures and videos of child pornography on computer equipment belonging to the teacher.

Each count of receiving child pornography online carries a minimum penalty of five years in prison and a maximum potential penalty of 20 years as well as a $250,000 fine, according to the U.S. Attorney.
