Mayor Steve Fulop announced Friday that McGreevey will run a city commission dedicated to job creation and training.

The former Democratic governor has been working for a program that helps female prisoners.

McGreevey served as governor for two years, resigned in 2004 shortly after announcing that he was “gay American” and amid revelations he’d had an affair with a man he’d put on his payroll.

Fulop says in addition to job creation and training, McGreevey will also develop prisoner re-integration programs.

Fulop assumed office July 1 after defeating the city’s longtime mayor.

The 36-year-old former Goldman Sachs trader has started auditing city agencies and recently released a 155-page ‘transition report.’
