Former NJ Attorney General’s Nomination Advances
A former New Jersey attorney general's nomination to become a judge cleared a hurdle Thursday.
The Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously sent Paula Dow's name to the full Senate for a vote, despite allegations raised in a lawsuit.
Former assistant Hudson County prosecutor Bennett Barlyn claims he was fired in 2010 when he objected to dropping an investigation against public officials with ties to Gov. Chris Christie.
Dow denies the allegation and told committee members they won't be substantiated.
