Saturday

Colts Neck 40, Howell 13

The Cougars (10-1, 5-1) set a school single-season record for wins as senior tailback Anthony Gargiulo ran for a pair of touchdowns and junior quarterback Christian Sanchez ran for a 55-yard touchdown and threw touchdown passes to Nick Volpe and Craig Russo to power the win over the Rebels (4-6, 2-4).

Colts Neck will now play Brick in the Central Jersey Group IV final at 4 p.m. on Saturday at The College of New Jersey in search of its first state title in program history.

Friday

Class A North

Manalapan 42, Marlboro 0

Senior wideout Saeed Blacknall had two touchdown catches, one apiece from quarterbacks Dan Anerella and Charles Lombana, to give him 15 for the season and help the Braves (11-0, 6-0) clinch their fourth straight outright Class A North title and tie the single-season school record for wins they set last year by blanking the Mustangs (2-8, 0-6).

Blacknall is now two touchdown catches shy of tying the single-season Shore Conference record of 17 held by Howell's Michael Clark. Senior tailback Tyler Leonetti and junior tailback Imamu Mayfield each added touchdown runs in the win.

Class A Central

Red Bank Catholic 45, Rumson-FH 0

Senior tailback Larry Redaelli had 159 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries in his final game, and sophomore quarterback/safety Eddie Hahn had a touchdown run and a pair of interceptions, including one he returned 45 yards for a touchdown, as the Caseys (10-1, 6-0) clinched the Class A Central title, their fourth straight division title, by handing the Bulldogs (10-1, 6-1) their first loss. RBC has now beaten Rumson 11 straight times in their Thanksgiving rivalry.

Hahn had a 12-yard touchdown run and his first two varsity interceptions on defense in the win, and junior running back Tommy Spernal added a 40-yard touchdown run. Senior Pat Toomey also booted a 27-yard field goal.

The defense posted its fourth shutout of the season and limited the Shore Conference's leading rusher, Rumson junior Charlie Volker, to a season-low 47 yards on 13 carries.

 

Class B Central

Shore 31, Point Beach 0

The Blue Devils (10-1, 5-0) won their 10th straight game and captured the Class B Central title by blanking the defending champion Garnet Gulls (9-2, 4-1) as senior quarterback Matt Muh threw a pair of touchdown passes and the defense posted its fourth shutout of the season. This is Shore's first division title since 2010 and the 14th in its history.

Muh threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to tight end Brandon Neyhart and a 15-yard scoring strike to Cole Barrale. Chris Francisco added a 5-yard touchdown run, senior Brian Miller had a 33-yard touchdown run and junior kicker Jake Monteiro added a 24-yard field goal in the win.

The two teams will play again next Saturday at 10 a.m. at The College of New Jersey in the Central Jersey Group I final.

Nondivisional

Freehold Boro 13, Freehold Twp. 6

Junior running back Josh Dixon ran for 150 yards and two touchdowns, including a 45-yard run in the second half to snap a 6-6 tie and send the Colonials (2-8) to a win over the Patriots (1-9).

Quarterback Jack O'Brien had a two-yard touchdown run in the loss for Freehold Township.

Jackson Memorial 34, Jackson Liberty 0

Senior running back Ken Bradley scored three touchdowns and senior running back Khani Glover ran for two as the Jaguars (8-3) improved to 6-0 all-time in their rivalry game against the Lions (4-6).

Bradley had touchdown runs of 37 and 23 yards and also caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Joe DeMaio. Glover added touchdown runs of 65 and 40 yards.

Thanksgiving Day

Class A North

Middletown South 43, Middletown North 6

The Eagles (5-5, 4-2) beat the Lions (3-7, 3-3) for the 13th straight time, as senior running back Jeremy Concepcion rolled up 174 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 28 carries to earn offensive MVP honors.

Junior defensive back Nolan Pereless was named the game's defensive MVP with two interceptions and a pass break-up. Senior quarterback Kyle Brey added a 15-yard touchdown run and a 63-yard touchdown pass to senior wideout Andrew Wisialko in the win. Junior defensive end Pat Crowe had a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown to cap the scoring.

Junior Troy Thompson had a 63-yard touchdown catch from freshman quarterback Donald Glenn for the Lions' lone score.

Class A Central

Holmdel 13, Raritan 12 (OT)

The Hornets (3-7, 1-5) won their second straight Thanksgiving game against the Rockets (3-7, 2-4) as quarterback Erik Alvino hit senior tight end Joe Tages for the game-tying touchdown in overtime and then senior kicker Tim Davis hit the game-winning extra point.

Alvino also scored on a one-yard quarterback sneak for Holmdel's other touchdown.

Junior Rich Salerno had a touchdown run, and junior wideout Dylan Dewysockie had a touchdown catch from senior quarterback Jared Collins in the loss for the Rockets.

Class A South

Toms River East 7, Toms River North 0

A 5-yard touchdown run by Hector Torres in the second quarter stood up as the game-winning points as the Raiders (4-6, 2-5) registered their first shutout win since 2009 by blanking the Mariners (1-9, 0-7).

Class B South

Barnegat 35, Pinelands 14

The Bengals (10-1, 6-1) added to their single-season school record for wins and also clinched the outright Class B South title for their second division championship in three seasons by building a 35-0 lead and rolling past the Wildcats (1-9, 1-6).

Junior running back Kevin Hoffman had touchdown runs of 3 and 5 yards, sophomore runnign back Paul Wickwire had a 20-yard touchdown run, junior Kenny Bass had a 1-yard touchdown run, and junior quarterback Cinjun Erskine threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to wideout Ryan Ulrich in the win.

Junior Shemar Gadson had a 1-yard touchdown run, and sophomore Jimmy Graham had a 57-yard touchdown catch in the loss for Pinelands.

Nondivisional

Southern 14, Central 7

Senior running back Grant Bissey had a pair of first-half touchdown runs as the Rams (5-5) built a 14-7 lead at the break and registered a second-half shutout, including a big goal line stand in the fourth quarter, to beat the Golden Eagles (5-5).

Neptune 13, Asbury Park 6

Jaree Parrish had a 1-yard touchdown run and junior Hunter Daly booted two fourth-quarter field goals as the Scarlet Fliers (5-5) never trailed on their way to a win over the Blue Bishops (7-4).

Senior quarterback Robert Barksdale had an 11-yard touchdown run for Asbury Park with 10 minutes left in the game that cut the lead to 7-6 before Daly's two field goals. Parrish finished with a career-high 246 yards rushing on 37 carries in the win.

Ocean 26, Monmouth 19

Sophomore tailback Tyler Thompson ran for three touchdowns in the win as the Spartans (10-1) rallied from a 19-13 halftime deficit with a second-half touchdown run by Thompson and a 64-yard interception return for a touchdown by Frank Henry to beat the Falcons (3-7).

Sophomore running back Ely Velez had a one-yard touchdown run, and quarterback James Green scored on a 1-yard run and had a 66-yard touchdown pass to Darryl Gamble in the loss for Monmouth.

Manasquan 17, Wall 7

The Warriors (8-3) beat the Crimson Knights (3-7) for the second time this season, as senior tailback Joe Murphy had touchdown runs of four and 30 yards to give him five in two games against Wall.

Manasquan added a safety in the win. Senior quarterback Jack Gifford threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to wideout Chris Quinlan in the loss for Wall.

Toms River South 53, Lakewood 26

Despite being without injured starting quarterback Tymere Berry, the Indians (8-3) erupted for their most points since a 61-0 win over Pinelands in 2011 as senior Darrius Hart, a wideout who stepped in at quarterback for Berry, threw two touchdown passes to senior Russell Messler and senior running back Otis Kearney and junior running back Khaleel Green each ran for two touchdown to rout the Piners (6-5).

Messler added a 30-yard field goal in the win, and Quintin DeCarlo returned a fumble for a touchdown in the win.

Quarterback Naquese Joshua threw three touchdown passes and ran for a 1-yard touchdown in the loss for Lakewood. He threw touchdowns to Mike Randolph of 11 and 12 yards, and also had a 13-yard touchdown pass to Joey Keraitis.

Wednesday
Class B North
Long Branch 16, Red Bank 8
Senior Deon Williams and junior Dahmiere Willis each ran for short touchdowns to help the Green Wave (7-3, 5-1) end the season with a win over the Bucs (1-9, 1-5).
Sophomore Sadiq Palmer had a 45-yard touchdown catch in the loss for Red Bank.
Nondivisional
Matawan 24, St. John Vianney 2
The Huskies (7-3) ended the season with a three-game winning streak, as sophomore Aliem Shaw ran for touchdowns of 9 and 17 yards, Justin Lester added a 2-yard touchdown, and senior kicker Mike Creamer booted a 22-yard field goal for his 14th field goal of the season and what is believed to be a Shore Conference-record 23 career field goals to help power the win over the Lancers (4-6).
