A flood advisory has been issued for parts of New Jersey today due to expected thunderstorms, rains.

The National Weather Service of Mount Holly has issued a flood advisory that remains in effect until 2:30 p.m. today for central Burlington County in South Jersey, the northern part of Atlantic County and central Ocean County.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall is expected to swell small creeks, streams and to cause water ponding on roads and farmlands along the banks of the creeks, streams.

A flood advisory is issued when river or stream flows are elevated and ponding is imminent.

A hazardous weather outlook is in effect for most of New Jersey today and tonight as showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain possible.nj
