They say Jean Paulino lifted about $140 in cash and two driver's licenses from a couple as they went through a security checkpoint on Tuesday.

Paulino, a United Airlines flight attendant who was in uniform, allegedly chatted with one victim, then waited until the man's back was turned and plucked the items off the X-ray machine.

Transportation Security Administration screeners notified police from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and they retrieved video footage that allegedly showed Paulino taking the money.

Paulino was arrested as he prepared to board a flight to Washington. He's charged with theft.

A phone number couldn't be found for Paulino, and it's not known if he's retained an attorney.
