Five people have been taken to hospitals after being injured in a southern New Jersey fire truck accident.

A police dispatcher says the accident happened around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Route 38 and Smithville Road in Lumberton as a fire apparatus from that town was heading back to the station after a call.

None of the people who were injured were believed to be in life-threatening condition.

The nature of the accident was not clear.
