Fires in two parts of the state damaged a mobile home and injured a firefighter minutes after the National Weather Service issued a statement about an "increased risk of fire spread" Sunday.

At about 11 a.m., firefighters in Gloucester City responded to a fire at a mobile home trailer, NJ.com reported. The blaze spread to a second trailer before being extinguished, according to the story. No residents were harmed but a firefighter was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries, the article states.

Earlier in the day, a brush fire near the Route 1 bridge led police to cordon off a wooded area behind Valley Manor Apartments, NJ.com reported. Billy Sullivan, a resident of the apartment complex who reported the fire, told NJ.com that he "heard a loud bang" around 6 a.m. and saw the blaze when he looked out his window.

Authorities have not yet released any additional information about the fire.

According to the National Weather Service, parts of New Jersey including Sussex, Warren, Morris, Middlesex, Hunterdon and parts of Monmouth, Mercer, Gloucester, Salem, Camden, Burlington, Cumberland and Cape May counties were under an "enhanced risk of fire spread" on Sunday afternoon.

The NWS said in a statement that the risk was due to relative humidity values dropping to 25 to 30 percent as well as dry conditions and wind gusts near 20 miles per hour at times.
