The Asbury Park Press reports that the fire in the three-story home in Deal was reported around 8 p.m. Saturday. It then firefighters several hours to contain the blaze, and at one point they were briefly pulled back over concerns that the structure was on the verge of collapse.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Officials say the blaze appeared to be concentrated in the top two floors of the home, which was built in 1909.
