A two-alarm blaze has destroyed portions of a single family home in South Brunswick and damaged two others. There were no injuries.

Police say when firefighters arrived at the house at around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, flames were shooting from the second floor windows. Later, part of the roof collapsed. The home's six residents escaped without injury.

Sgt. Jim Ryan tells The Star-Ledger that a house next door sustained fire and water damage and that another house was slightly damaged.

More than two dozen firefighters from several communities battled the fire.
