Drug and alcohol abuse is epidemic among teens in New Jersey. From prescription pills, to marijuana, to heroin and cocaine, the cycle of addiction is tough to break. For any parent who has been confronted with addiction, it's often difficult to know where to turn for help.

Do you think this can't happen to your child? Check out our special series on drug and alcohol addiction among New Jersey teens.

Fortunately, New Jersey offers many treatment options.

I have been honored to get to know the people at Daytop New Jersey.

When they say "it's where miracles happen," they mean it. I have talked with numerous parents whose kids have gone through this unique program, and gotten their kids back, drug free and ready to resume a life full of promise. It is nothing short of miraculous.

Daytop is a non-profit group that operates both inpatient and outpatient centers in New Jersey. On September 26th, they will hold their annual fundraising Gala in Somerset.

I'll be there. So will Governor Christie and his wife, Mary Pat. They will be honored this year for their support of this program.

We talked about it on the August edition of Ask the Governor.

I hope you can join the celebration, and support the miraculous work being done every day with kids who need a second chance.
