READINGTON — A central New Jersey family had a rude awakening on Sunday morning in the form of an intruder.

Readington Police said Wade J. Beltz, 34, of Flemington entered the home on Route 532 through an unlocked door and made his way upstairs. One of the members of the family confronted Beltz before calling 911, according to police, who said that Beltz also took a cell phone.

No one was threatened or injured, according to police.

Beltz was arrested and charged with burglary, theft and criminal tresspass. and was being held in the Somerset County Jail pending $25,000 bail.

TAP into Flemington/Raritan reported Beltz was also arrested in August on a DUI charge after, police said, he turned out of a Pet Smart store parking lot and onto the sidewalk.
