Facebook or Twitter – Which Do You Prefer? [POLL]

Which is your social media of choice? Do you even have a favorite or preference?

According to a new Pew Research Center study, it’s Twitter for teens.

The study surveyed 802 teens about their social media habits. One of the reasons for the switch to twitter among teens is the stress and drama of maintaining their reputation” as well as the increasing adult presence on Facebook. But most said they maintain their accounts because “participation” is an important part of teenage socializing.

Of those who have Facebook accounts, 60% reported keeping their profiles private and 74% said they’ve deleted or blocked “friends” before.

The average teen Facebook user had 300 friends, and 7 in 10 said they are friends with their parents.

Another interesting tidbit: Teenage use of social media site Twitter is significantly up from 2011. Twenty-four-percent of teens reported using the network, versus just 16% in 2011. Which do you prefer?  Take our poll and let us know.
