Sixty-five-year-old Wayne Bryant returned home on Friday after spending three days at a Philadelphia halfway house and more than three years at a federal prison camp in West Virginia.

His release was reported by The Courier-Post of Cherry Hill .

The former chairman of the Senate budget committee was found guilty in 2008 of using his influence to obtain a low-show, pension-padding job at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey's School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Bryant was found not guilty earlier this year in a second corruption case. Prosecutors said he took $192,000 in bribes disguised as legal fees in exchange for backing redevelopment plans around the state.
