Former Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano is rumored to be heading to Miami for a position with the Dolphins.

The Dolphins, coming off a 27-14 loss to the Jets and a 1-3 record to start the season. fired Joe Philbin on Monday after four years as head coach. Schiano's among those reportedly being considered as an advisor in charge of defense, according to a tweet by NFL Network's Albert Breer.

Schiano left the Scarlett Knights and became head coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers  in 2012 but fired was at the end of the 2013 season.

As current head coach — currently under a three-game suspension for contact with a professor about a player's grades — started the year facing, several scandals, Schiano's name was bandied about on social media as a possible replacement. NJ Advance Media's Steve Polti speculated about what it would take to get Schiano back as well

But Rutgers athletic director Julie Herman has expressed support for Flood, expected to return after Saturday's game.
