Federal prosecutors in Manhattan accused Kristin Davis of selling the medications to a drug dealer three separate times since January. The drug dealer was cooperating with investigators and wearing a wire.

In one meeting on Jan. 7, the cooperator paid Davis $675 in cash for 215 pills, according to a criminal complaint.

"Ok, and this one is Ambien. There are 30 of those," Davis allegedly said on tape.

Davis, 38, was to appear in court later Tuesday. There was no immediate response to messages left with her campaign.

The Libertarian candidate has a previous conviction for promoting prostitution. She has claimed to have gotten call girls for Spitzer when he was governor, but that's never been proven.

Davis got into the comptroller race before Spitzer, running on a platform to legalize and tax marijuana as a way to close potential city budget gaps.

She has raised a total of less than $400, about $90 of it from herself, and spent $225, campaign finance records show.
