Wayne Voorhees entered the plea Tuesday as part of a deal with Mercer County prosecutors. It calls for the 52-year-old Ewing resident to receive a 25-year term when he's sentenced Feb. 15, and he will have to serve more than 21 years before he becomes eligible for parole.

Voorhees said he was in his unit at the when he intentionally shot 24-year-old Timothy Rivella in July 2011. Voorhees then held authorities at bay for nearly eight hours before police stormed the unit and found Voorhees with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
