Erik Van Ness Memorial Scholarship
for Outstanding Creativity

The Millennium Radio Group offers this scholarship in honor of our dear colleague, Erik Van Ness. 

In 2002, Erik lost his lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis.  Despite his physical struggles, he possessed one of the most creative minds in radio.  He was a master at harnessing emotion, and weaving it into a tapestry of sound.

The scholarship is available to students in their senior year of classes at an accredited New Jersey college or university with a major in radio broadcasting. 

Entrants must submit:

• An introductory letter explaining why the applicant believes he or she is qualified for this award

• Course transcripts showing GPA

• A recorded sample of their work, demonstrating creativity in the areas of writing, sound mixing, production, and presentation.  (Entries may not exceed 15-minutes in length.  Compact disc is preferred) 

• Up to two additional pages of supporting documentation may be included 

Millennium Radio managers will be the sole judge of the entries submitted and their decision is final.

The winner will be presented a check for two-thousand ($2,000.00) by New Jersey 101.5 and Millennium Radio New Jersey.
