Englewood Cliffs Mayor’s Son Faces Drug Charge
The son of a northern New Jersey mayor is facing drug charges after police stopped him for a driving violation.
The Record of Woodland Park reports that Joseph Parisi III of Englewood Cliffs faces a range of charges including possession of narcotics.
Officials from The Palisades Interstate Parkway Police tell the newspaper that Parisi was stopped around 1:45 a.m. Friday after a patrolman noticed the front bumper hanging off the black 2010 Lexus SUV he was driving.
An officer reported smelling marijuana during the stop and a vehicle search turned up a substance believed to be heroin.
Parisi's attorney, Albert Wunsch, said his client would plead not guilty. Parisi has been released on his own recognizance.
The 22-year-old is the son of Englewood Cliffs Mayor Joseph Parisi Jr.
