A marketing group has commissioned a New York-based art curator to install public art works at the spot where Pinnacle Entertainment pulled out of a mega-casino project.

The Atlantic City Alliance tells The Press of Atlantic City that Lance Fung will transform the lot where the Sands Casino Hotel once stood. Fung is known for mounting the "Snow Show" exhibition at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Italy.

Pinnacle has been unsuccessful in selling the lot it bought for $270 million in 2006.

The newspaper says a real estate firm had set a June 29 deadline for offers but that neither the firm nor Pinnacle would say if any were made.
