I can't believe some of us still have to fight this battle with kids as old as 10 and 8. Does it get better by the early teens? Does it get even worse? Just CLEAN UP YOUR ROOM!

Denying allowance, restricting privileges, anything that it will take to remind a kid to make it a nightly ritual doesn't seem to register with some kids. My children are respectful in every other way. Even the common areas of the house they know to clean up after themselves. When it comes to their own rooms, it's a battle. Have you gone through this?

With back to school time here, I thought this might be an interesting social experiment. If you have a kid of any age who keeps their room messy, what if you embarrass them into cleaning it? Send us a picture of your kid's room at its filthiest and we'll publish them here in a gallery if we get enough good ones. No worries, we won't put anyone's last name. But it might just do the trick to get through to them. Plus we'll take the messiest room and send the parent 30 dollars worth of cleaning supplies for the kid to put a little muscle into it! If you want in, send your best kid's dirty room pic by clicking here --> dd@nj1015.com.

Doyle's shared this photo of what his daughter's room looks like. This is some stiff competition! See the photo below.
